Dave and Crystal Rose spent the weekend getting things ready for their honeymoon!
Unfortunately, Dave had to work most of the day on Saturday this weekend, so he went to bed early on Friday, and Crystal Rose took advantage of the quiet time at night by entering the information they gathered from last weekend into their Tripit planner. Throughout the adventure, this planner will work like a real-time journal… and afterwards, we can share it with our friends and family!
While Dave was working yesterday, Crystal Rose started “flagging” our atlas and Blue Ridge Parkway directory and travel guide. We do keep everything digital, but since we take pictures with our phones along the way, and cell phone service is not reliable, it is important to know what GPS coordinates we need next, and which stops and sights we don’t want to miss along the way!
Today, we FINALLY made it to Kohl’s (after weeks of saying we needed to go). We have slowly realized that our wardrobe is a bit outdated (and looking a little ragged), and there were a few necessities we needed for the Honeymoon, such as a bathing suit (Crystal Rose hasn’t had a proper one since she forgot hers in the showers at the Great Salt Lake), hiking shoes (for Dave), and shorts and summer clothing for us both. So, today was the day… we got up, got dressed, and headed out. We had planned for stopping at multiple stores, but a few hours at Kohl’s was all it took!

Dave realized maybe he really did need shorts a size bigger when the button fell off of the shorts he put on this morning. As soon as he got into the dressing room, before he could even unbutton the shorts, the button popped off! 🤣
While we will focus on non-perishable grocery items next weekend, we still needed dinner for today and groceries for this week. So, on our way home, we stopped at Big Y for one of our favorite quick dinners… pizza (for Dave) and sushi (for Crystal Rose).
Overall, it was a busy and productive weekend, and each day is one step closer to our Honeymoon!
