After our Seattle road trip in 2019, we could not wait to hit the road again… two years (and a slight adaptation) later, we are ready! Our honeymoon will be an East-Coast Road Trip in July 2021!
In 2019, after our Seattle road trip, we started planning our summer 2020 road trip to the Grand Canyon. When Dave proposed to Crystal Rose in January, we decided to wait until after the wedding to take the trip. Taking a road trip in February was not very appealing, so we planned to drive to the Grand Canyon and back as our honeymoon in the summer of 2021.
While the Covid-19 pandemic did not postpone our wedding, nor will it postpone our summer honeymoon, it has given us reason to change our destination. As of June 3rd, 2021, the Navajo Nation Parks remain closed until further notice. This includes Monument Valley, the Four Corners Monument, parts of the Grand Canyon, and other sites we were hoping to visit. We are still looking forward to driving to the Grand Canyon in the future, but our 2021 road trip will now be an East-Coast Road Trip!
We are so grateful to our wedding guests for their wonderful destination suggestions in our guestbook. We received many alternative suggestions to the Grand Canyon, some of which we will be incorporating into this trip! We are still taking suggestions; feel free to submit your’s anytime. Also, the funds from our registry will be put to good use for our new honeymoon… stay tuned for more information!
